The Florrie has a clearly defined safeguarding structure to ensure effective oversight, accountability and best practice across all services. We appoint a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who holds overall responsibility for safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, government guidance and sector best practice.
Designated safeguarding responsibility is held within key roles across the organisation, including:
- CEO (strategic oversight and accountability)
- Community Hub Co-ordinator (frontline identification and response)
- Youth Workers (safeguarding children and young people)
- Volunteer Coordinator (oversight of volunteers and safe practice)
- Events Manager (operational safeguarding for visitors attending events)
All designated leads receive appropriate safeguarding training and are responsible for:
- Responding to safeguarding concerns and making referrals
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Providing guidance and support to staff and volunteers
- Liaising with external safeguarding agencies and statutory services
This structure ensures safeguarding is embedded at all levels of delivery, enabling a timely, coordinated and effective response to protect the wellbeing of all individuals engaging with our services.
