Florrie Open Mic Night | The Florrie | Friday 10th October

The Florrie’s famous open mic night returns at The Florrie on Friday 10th October for another great night of fun! Whether it is your first time on stage or you are a regular performer, all ages and abilities are welcome to take part. Come down for a great night of community spirit and to cheer on those who will be performing!

Louis Berry | Jacaranda Baltic | Saturday 4th October

Louis Berry returns to Liverpool for his first homecoming gig at Jacaranda Baltic in quite some time. He has stated this gig is going to be significant not only for this fact, but as he transcends into the next chapter of his musical career. This will be the last time he plays many of his big hits such as “Rebel” and “Molly Malone”, so for any fans since the beginning, make sure you don’t miss it!

Lorenzo Micheli | The Florrie | 7th October

The Florrie welcomes Lorenzo Micheli for an evening of bold, expressive solo guitar. Hailed as one of the world’s leading classical guitarists, Micheli has performed across five continents at venues including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna. His recital, Capriccio, spans three centuries of music, from the fiery sonatas of Paganini and the poetic reverie of Barrios’ La Catedral, to Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s vivid tributes to Goya and Paganini, and Llobet’s rarely performed La Folia variations. The programme also features transcriptions of Chopin’s Preludes, bridging piano and guitar with subtlety and nuance, and concludes with Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s elegant Rondo.

Candlelight Concerts Pink Floyd & Adele | The Florrie | 18th October

Experience the magic of Candlelight concerts at The Florrie with two unforgettable musical evenings under the gentle glow of candlelight. Enjoy a Tribute to Pink Floyd, featuring iconic tracks like Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall, Time, and Shine On You Crazy Diamond, performed by a string quartet in a stunning, immersive setting. For fans of contemporary pop, the Tribute to Adele brings her greatest hits to life, including Hello, Someone Like You, Rolling in the Deep, Easy On Me, and more, all performed by a string quartet in an intimate, atmospheric experience. 

Smithdown Weekender Festival | Multiple Venues | Friday 10th & Saturday 11th October

Smithdown Festival celebrates its tenth-year anniversary this month for a jam-packed weekend full of music. There will be various artists taking the stage at multiple venues over the two days ensuring a bit of something for everyone! The majority of the venues are free entry so you don’t need to purchase any ticket either! Make sure you get down and check out some of the best new music in the city!

MT Jones | Arts Club | Friday 17th October

MT Jones, one of Liverpool’s most exciting new artists plays at the Arts Club on Friday 17th October. Jones brings a modern soulful sound inspired by 60s and 70s greats and is rapidly making a name for himself. His new single has just been added to Radio 2’s playlist, as his music gains more popularity. Having seen him myself, I can assure you that this gig is one to watch!

Korova | Kazimier Stockroom | Saturday 25th October

Yet another one of Liverpool’s exciting emerging bands, Korova, takes the stage at Kazimier Stockroom at the end of the month. Definitely one to watch at the moment and a gig that you don’t want to miss. Check out their recent release – a cover of The Stooges “I Wanna Be Your Dog” and get down to the gig to show your support for a great upcoming band!

Kids Halloween Fancy Dress Party | The Florrie | 31st October

Get ready for a spook-tacular time at The Florrie this Halloween. Join us for our Fancy Dress Party on Friday 31st October from 4–7 PM, perfect for children aged 0–12 years. Tickets are just £1 per child and can be picked up easily from our reception. Please remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult. Every ticket sold supports our Cash for Kids Sports Challenge fundraising page, helping local disadvantaged children get active and involved in sport. So come along in your spookiest, silliest, or most magical costumes and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, games, and Halloween treats at The Florrie, 377 Mill Street, L8 4RF.

The Galeón Andalucía | Royal Albert Dock | 1st - 5th October

A replica of a Spanish trade ship, used in the 1600s and 1700s to build trade links between Spain, America, and The Philippines is coming to Liverpool!  Also dubbed “the floating museum”, visitors will be able to wander the decks as they please or follow a self-guided walking tour, check out the interactive exhibits, videos, and admire historical artefacts.  The sailors who live and work on the ship will also be around to chat to and ask questions.  The Galeón Andalucía is currently on a journey travelling all over the UK, so don’t miss your opportunity to experience a slice of history!

Sugar and Spice Festival | The Diamond, Port Sunlight | 4th October

The Sugar and Spice Festival returns to get you into the autumnal spirit!  Head to Port Sunlight to wander the market and indulge in locally made food and drink (and beer!) as dishes from all over the world.  You’ll be serenaded by Sing the Musicals Choir and the Port Sunlight Ukulele Group – and you might even catch a poem or two, courtesy of Wirral Poetry Festival.  Don’t forget to check out the Autumn Trail, which takes you and your family on a journey all around the village, with a chance of winning an autumn-themed prize too.

Open Air Cinema - Halloween Edition | Calderstones Park | 28th October - 1st November

This month, UK charity The Reader has a whole host of spooky classics playing at their open air cinema, including Hocus Pocus, Addams Family Values, and Beetlejuice.  If you want to take part in Halloween festivities but you’re not the partying kind, grab your friends and family, wrap up warm, and immerse yourself in the spooky spirit at Calderstones Park.  You’ll be kept cosy underneath a giant canopy – just make sure you bring your own blanket or chair, and of course, cinema snacks!

Milap's INDIKA Festival | Multiple Venues | 17th - 31st October

This October, Milap’s INDIKA Festival returns to Liverpool with a vibrant 15-day celebration of Indian music, dance, and culture across the city region. Now in its 40th year, Milap continues to showcase the very best of contemporary and traditional Indian arts, offering everything from live performances and family activities to storytelling, yoga, and participatory workshops. With events taking place in some of Liverpool’s most iconic venues, INDIKA brings together artists and audiences to share in a rich, multi-sensory experience of music, movement, food, and ideas. Timed to coincide with Diwali, the festival is a joyful highlight of the cultural calendar and an invitation for everyone to connect with the beauty, depth, and diversity of Indian heritage.

Katumba Halloween Carnival | Location TBC | 1st - 31st October

Katumba Drumming & Movement will be bringing a breathtaking carnival to Liverpool this month.  Celebrating afrobeats from many different cultures and the original pagan roots of Halloween (Samhain), Katumba are fusing the two together on Halloween night in a ritual-like procession of music, movement, fire and folklore.  In the run up to the carnival, Katumba are hosting workshops that all the family can enjoy that will allow you to take part in and learn more about the making of the carnival, the highlight being the chance for you to get behind the drums yourself in their Afro-Brazilian drumming workshop.
