Youth Activities At The Florrie

The Basement is The Florrie’s dedicated creative space for the children and young people. This newly refurbished facility houses:  a State of the Art Cinema, Radio & Podcast Studio, Games Room as well as Social Recreation & Educational Space.

Cinema

The state of the art Cinema is fitted out with a huge 4K screen & full Dolby Atmos surround sound. It's perfect for watching films, playing games or for presentations.

Games Room

The Games Room is a great space for young people to relax & learn. It includes brand new games consoles, ping pong, arcade machines & educational space.

Radio Studio

The Radio Studio is fully equipped for young people to record their own shows & podcasts for broadcast on The Florrie's online radio station Florrie Radio.

Free activities for local young people

The Florrie Youth Club runs every week from 4pm to 7pm as an Open Access session for up to 30 young people aged 11 to 16.

It’s a space to socialise, get creative, try new activities and spend time with friends in a safe, welcoming environment. Young people can enjoy a fully equipped gaming area, a dedicated cinema room, music equipment for creating and recording, and a wide range of creative materials.

Sessions also include sports, team games, media activities and hands-on workshops shaped around the interests of the young people who attend. Whether you want to compete, create, perform, learn new skills or just relax after school, there is something here for you.

There is no cost to attend. Just turn up and get involved.

Free activities for local young people

The Basement is open during all school holidays, with a programme of free activities for children aged 7 to 12.

Sessions vary throughout the year but often include creative workshops, games, music, media, sports and cinema experiences. Whether it’s half-term, Easter or the summer break, The Florrie offers a safe, fun and supportive space for children to learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and enjoy their time off school.

Healthy meals and snacks are provided at every session.

Childrens Parties

Make their birthday unforgettable with a private movie or gaming party in our fully equipped cinema and youth zone. Choose from a huge selection of films to enjoy on the big screen or dive into the action with their favourite games!

Youth Groups

If you are a school, community or youth group you can book The Basement for your activities. 

It is available Monday-Friday for morning or afternoon sessions between 9am-4pm. To book please email info@theflorrie.org for more information.

Broadcasting 24/7 from The Basement

Florrie Radio is our community radio station which broadcasts from our building at the heart of Liverpool 8.

Young people can get involved to share their views & opinions on the issues that affect them. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up new skills & experiences, make new friends, & get more involved in your community.

No experience is necessary to join our team, as full training can be given.
