This summer has been packed with fun, creativity, and adventure for young people here at The Florrie. From exciting days in The Basement, our dedicated Youth Zone, to unforgettable trips away, our programme was designed to give children and young people a summer full of opportunities, new skills, and lasting memories.
Activities at The Florrie
We ran a wide variety of sessions throughout the holidays, including:
- Movie Days
- Arts & Crafts
- Games and sports
- Radio & Podcast sessions in the @Florrie_Radio studio
- Food sessions in our garden with our friends at @foodforthought

A Special Adventure to Wales
One of the highlights of the summer was taking a group of young people on a residential trip to Treginnis Isaf in Wales, with Farms for City Children.
There, they:
- Explored breathtaking coastal walks and spotted dolphins and seals
- Fed and cared for donkeys, pigs, chickens, geese, and turkeys
- Milked goats and collected fresh eggs
- Held baby chicks, groomed donkeys, and even took them for walks
- Got hands-on with real farm life by composting animal waste
- Enjoyed evening BBQs, gardening, beach trips, and even witnessed a meteor shower
For some of the children, this was their very first time away from home, making it a truly memory-forming experience they’ll never forget.
Looking Ahead
We hope all of the young people who joined us this summer had an incredible time. The Florrie team can’t wait to welcome everyone back for more activities during the next school holidays.
