I am sure we can all remember learning about the history of witchcraft at school; How Henry the 8th accused Ann Boleyn, the Pendle witch trials, & the history of Salem Villageā¦ However, history fails to tell us this story from a woman’s perspective.
Now, there is a solution. On the 11th of March, 7:00pm to 9:30pm, Seed Talks are hosting Dr Debora Moretti at The Florrie. An archaeologist at Hertfordshire University, she’ll be hosting a talk taking a deep dive into the history of witchcraft, patriarchal structures and challenging the notion that witchcraft was solely a female crime.
Learn about early witches, dating back to the Roman times. This is a unique discussion where you’ll learn their lives and beliefs, told though real life stories within a modern context.
