Announcing The Florrie Archive

The Florrie Library when we first opened back in 1889. Now its home to our Heritage Resource Centre where our archive is displayed.

We are excited to announce that on Wednesday 1st April we will officially launch The Florrie Archive!

Since November 2019 we have been working hard behind the scenes to pull together the different strands of our history, and make sure the Florrie story is both celebrated and preserved for future generations. This includes cataloguing and storing our physical collection correctly, and digitizing fragile historical documents. A very important part of this work is the creation of The Florrie Digital Archive, a dedicated website where you will be able to explore Florrie history and artefacts brought together in one, easy to access place.

We are inviting Florrie Old Boys and Girls to pop into our café at 1pm on Friday 14th February to share their Florrie memories up to 1989. There will also be opportunities for past Florrie members from all over the globe to get involved in the archive, so keep an eye on The Florrie website and social media for updates.

This work has been made possible by grants from Heritage Lottery Fund.
