Florrie fundraiser raises over £1000 in memory of her dad

We want to say a massive thanks to Sarah Collins who has been fundraising for us in memory of her dad Steve, a massive red who was touched by Lee’s video with Sadio Mane just before Christmas.

Sarah set out to raise £100 for The Florrie & amazingly she has smashed her target by over 1000% with the online fundraiser currently at £1175.

Speaking about the fundraiser, Sarah told us:

My Dad was my hero and best friend. A man of good spirit and kindness for anyone that was lucky enough to cross his path. I hope these are qualities I can keep alive in some way with this donation to the community and city he loved. My Dad would want no tears or sadness in his passing but would love to see hope and community alive in his name. As all reds know- a great man once said “The socialism I believe in isn’t really politics. It is a way of living. It is humanity. I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day. That might be asking a lot, but it’s the way I see football and the way I see life.” B. Shankly. Through the wind and the rain we should stand together and earn our place in the golden sky, my Dad certainly earned his and I am eternally proud to be his daughter.
