A Night to Remember: Celebrating South End Football at The Florrie

On Saturday, The Florrie played host to an unforgettable evening dedicated to the rich history of amateur football in South Liverpool. The Celebration of South End Football brought together players, supporters, and friends from across the decades to reconnect, reminisce, and honour the teams and individuals who helped shape the sport in the area.

The event was a fantastic reunion, with many attendees meeting up for the first time in over 40 years. Stories flowed freely, memories were shared, and the passion for grassroots football was as strong as ever. From classic team photos to cherished memorabilia, the evening captured the spirit of community that has been at the heart of South Liverpool football for generations.

Special thanks go to our host Gary Skyner for guiding the night with warmth and enthusiasm, and to musician Ben Burke whose live performance added a wonderful soundtrack to the occasion. We are also extremely grateful to our sponsors, DMS CCTV Control and Calvey Restoration, whose support helped make this fundraiser a reality.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting The Florrie, ensuring this historic venue continues to serve as a vibrant hub for culture and community in Liverpool.

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate South End football and to all those who have contributed to preserving its incredible legacy.
