In Memory of Cyril Thomas

We were very sad to hear about the passing of Cyril Thomas but we are deeply honoured that his granddaughter Anna has chosen to support The Florrie in his memory.

Cyril was one in a million, a brilliant man who hated injustice and understood how deeply poverty affects people. He grew up near The Florrie and, as a child, spent time in our building. His connection to our community and his generosity of spirit made this fundraiser all the more special.

Before he passed away, Cyril and Anna agreed on exactly how he would want to be remembered. There would be no funeral and no flowers. True to his wishes, Cyril donated his body to medical science and asked instead for a way to give back to those who need it most, by providing food for people facing hardship.

Anna has set up a fundraiser in his name to support The Florrie’s Food Pantry, which provides free food and household goods to people in our community. This vital service runs five days a week and helps hundreds of people each month.

If you are able to contribute, please join us in honouring Cyril’s memory and continuing his legacy of kindness.
