Alexandra began her studies at Chetham’s School of Music at the age of eleven, where she explored classical guitar, piano, jazz and composition. She went on to gain a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating with first class honours and the Timothy Gilson Guitar Prize, before returning the following year to complete her master’s degree with distinction.

At 16, she began filming her performances as a personal project, rapidly building a global following with over 50 million views online. That creative spirit has since taken her to concert halls across Europe, North America and beyond.

Having signed exclusively to Decca Classics, Alexandra’s debut album My European Journeyshowcases her passion for romantic guitar music and her love of bringing lesser-known composers into the spotlight, earning her a place among Classic FM’s Rising Star artists in 2022.

Away from the stage, Alexandra is a passionate advocate for music education in schools, regularly giving workshops and masterclasses to involve young people from diverse backgrounds in classical music.

Description

What happens when Charli XCX meets an orchestra? Find out at Pop Orchestra, an evening where contemporary chart music and much-loved classics take on a new sound.

Opening with the sweeping melodies of Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, the programme moves straight into the unexpected with 360, before bringing you the warmth of Olivia Dean, the emotion of Billie Eilish and the euphoric energy of Titanium.

The second set opens with the unmistakable rhythm of Billie Jean. RAYE’s Where Is My Husband! and Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy add a playful touch of romantic mischief, while Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande provide moments to sing your heart out.

As the evening builds, Shut Up and Dance, DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love and Give Me Everything turn up the energy, before a final singalong to Livin’ on a Prayer.

Join us at The Crescent for a night of orchestral pop, romance and celebration – whether you’re coming with friends, planning a date night or simply want to hear your favourite songs differently.
