We have a number of classes to support you in returning to the workplace, up skilling or improving your education, these include:

English (as a second language) classes
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 1pm-3pm. No need to book, just drop in
Age: Adult 16+
These classes are shared learning classes aimed at non/little English speaking members of the community.

Dyslexia Support
Tuesday 10am-12
Age Adult 16+
aimed at anyone who thinks they may have dyslexia and has never been diagnosed or anyone who wants extra support.

English Classes
Mondays 11am-1pm
Age: Adult 16+
aimed at those members of the community who want to improve their reading and writing.

Shared Reading Group
Mondays 11am-1pm
Age: Adults 16+

Creative Writing
Wednesday 11am-12.45pm
Age: Adult 16+
Have you got the next best seller and just waiting to put pen to paper – this is the class for you.

French Lessons
Mondays 2pm-3:30pm
Age: Adult 16+

Basic Computers
Wednesday 2pm-4pm
Age: Adults 16+
For those with little knowledge of computers and want to learn the basics to get started.

Universal Credit and Employment Support
Wednesday 1pm-3pm
Private and confidential support from DWP staff.


Hospitality Training

Join the hospitality training programme at The Florrie to develop the skills you need to be work-ready and stand out to potential employers.

The course will take place 2 days a week on Mondays & Tuesdays for 4 weeks (totalling 40 hours) starting 7th October.

Covering customer service, catering, food service, bar-tending, with a mix of classroom learning & work experience on site at The Florrie. Once completed you will also have the opportunity to join The Florrieā€™s bank of staff, working at our many events throughout the year.

It is FREE to attend if you are unemployed or economically inactive & over 19 years with no upper age limit, we particularly welcome those who wish to gain new skills to help them return to the workforce after a long absence. You must be a legal resident in the UK & able to take up paid employment in a European member state.

Those who attend will have the opportunity to gain certificates in:
Food Safety, First Aid, White Badge Tourism Guide Award, Health & Safety Training, SIA Security Training, etc
