Peace Out at The Florrie

Fri 22 Feb
1:30 pm-3:00 pm

Fri 22 Feb

D Street Media CIC’s fantastic, new, interactive film/theatre project “Peace Out” is coming to The Florrie on Friday 22nd of Febuary at 1:30pm.

The film project, which is totally FREE to attend, looks at hate crime, knife crime, racism, religion, and unrest between young people of different cultures. It follows the struggles of 1 particular character, who becomes a victim of hate crime, because of his heritage and culture, he is bullied and abused repeatedly and eventually attempts to take his own life.

The film lasts for 25 minutes and is followed by a gripping piece of live theatre, with some of the characters from the film coming to life and continuing the story.

Due to the sensitive subject matter D Street Media have been working the Samaritans, and Merseyside Police, who they have worked in partnership with on previous projects, they have been involved with each stage of this project, advising on script, content and format.

There will be a Q&A session, where the young people in the audience will be encouraged to get involved and hot seat the characters. They will be sign posted to the relevant organisations to seek help and advice, and literature containing helpline numbers will be distributed.

This is a must see project for all young people.

If you know/are a young person who is interested in attending the event please get in-touch with Ian at The Florrie on info@theflorrie.org or 0151 728 2323 to book your place.
